10 Western Australian film & TV projects receive Screenwest scripted development funding

Ten projects have received development support through Screenwest’s first round of Scripted Development Investment Funding for the 2021-22 financial year.

The successful projects include feature films about a forbidden wartime romance, a doctor and teenager attempting to survive a post-apocalyptic world, and a young girl’s efforts to save her family’s farm; along with TV series set across a criminal empire in Yawuru country and an inner-city performing arts school.

“We’re thrilled to be supporting these ten imaginative and compelling projects, following an overwhelming number of competitive, high-quality submissions. Congratulations to the filmmaking teams – we look forward to following the development of your screen stories.” said Rikki Lea Bestall, Screenwest CEO.

Scripted Development Investment Funding provides concept development (Stage One) and project development (Stage Two) funding to emerging and experienced Western Australian practitioners who are creating scripted content for all delivery platforms (including theatrical).
